Israel Houghton, a multiple GRAMMY, Stellar, Dove Award Winner and one of the greatest worship leaders of our time had visited BREATHE Music New York’s rehearsal on January 26th, 2009.

He currently leads worship in the largest church in U.S., Lakewood Church, and is also the renown songwriter behind international recognized songs such as “You Are Good”, “Friend of God”, and many others. His visit to BREATHE’s rehearsal was made possible through our artistic director, Kevin Singleton, who is a long time friend of Israel.

Israel stayed in the rehearsal for 1 and half hours worshiping together, sharing testimony, and holding a Q&A session. He shared about his first experience in leading worship when he was 19, and confessed, “It was difficult, but I can’t forget the trembling heart that I had at that time.”  He also emphasized, “As a worship leader, it’s important to recover the first heart in us, and praise God in each moment of our life.”

In the Q&A session, BREATHE members shared their difficulties as worship leaders and were able to receive a lot of wisdom and guidance from Israel.

BREATHE members were very encouraged by this great opportunity to spend time with Israel, and revealed a greater desire to grow as worship leaders of God.  BREATHE Music New York expects to have more special opportunities like this throughout the season!
