Greetings. Thank you for your interest in auditioning for BREATHE 2007. Since 2002, BREATHE has gathered musicians together in different parts of the world for a series of events. This year, by gathering local talent in New York, BREATHE will form contemporary music bands and dance teams to minister to the city. If you have a vision for music/dance ministry, please look at the following audition requirements. We hope to see you at the auditions this year.
Regulations
An applicant must be over 17 years old, an active Christian, and have vision in music/dance ministry.
Position
Vocalists: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass
Instrumentalists: Piano (Keyboard)/ Synthesizer/ Electric Guitar/ Acoustic Guitar/ Bass Guitar/ Drums/ Percussion/ Winds/ Brass/ Strings
Audio/Visual: Filming/ Photography/ Video editing/ Audio engineering/ Lighting
Dancers: Ballet/ Contemporary/ Jazz/ Hip-hop/ Modern/ etc.
Deadlines
Application forms are only accepted from July 5th to July 20th. After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmed audition time via email.

There is a $7 application fee which will be due at the audition.

Audition Format

- Thursday July 5th - Friday July 20th
Each audition will be a maximum of 10 minutes. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your audition time to verify your application information with us.
The following are the artistic requirements for the audition. Please bring a paper copy of your music (score, lyrics/chords) for the auditor.
Vocalists
Two contrasting vocal solos, of varying tempos, with accompaniment. (Accompaniment can be live or recorded.) Please use contemporary style songs which demonstrate your appropriate vocal range.
Instrumentalists
Two selections of varying tempos showing interpretation and dynamic range, tone quality and overall ability.
Dancers
Two pieces of varying tempos, with accompaniment (live or recorded). Please choose choreographies and music that best demonstrate your abilities.
Audio/Visual
Please bring with you a resume detailing your work experience, along with a tape/CD/DVD recording of a studio or live event which you produced. The audition time will be used to review your recording.
Results of the audition will be emailed to you by Monday July 24th. Those who pass the auditions will be eligible for membership in BREATHE. From July till December, BREATHE members will benefit from a membership orientation, weekly rehearsals, dozens of events, music/dance seminars, and BREATHE recording projects.
